Through, not Threw
It seems that every year, more and more grown adults who use the internet are lacking in proper education. At first, one of my biggest pet peeves was the misuse of the word “you’re”. People all over the internet use the possessive “your”, as in “your going to the store”, which is wrong (and ever so annoying).
This year, the same bottom 30% of our graduating classes have taken to misusing the word “threw” in place of “through”, is in, “I’ll come over when I’m threw with dinner”. This has driven my urge to kill, even higher. This is one of the many reasons that other countries can’t stand us Americans. We boast being the greatest country in the world, yet, even when we make bold statements, we boast our 3rd grade spelling and grammar. To add insult to injury, half of the culprits abusing the english language are 25-40 years old (and often, OLDER).
So, just to recap:
YOU’RE is YOU-ARE
THREW is THROWING AN OBJECT (or a tantrum)!!!!
