Omina Labs Grand Opening
Oh hell yesh! Saturday Oct, 11 2008 was the grand opening of Omina Labs (mi studio), and it was cracking! The hallway was crawling thick with local celebs, magazine staff, press, and even some of our parents! Every room in the building was blaring with tunes from various Omina clients, as the smell of BBQ from Sandra Dees filled the air. Art and pictures from artists were on display and up for sale, though I dont believe too many were sold. Still a sight to see.
Up on the roof, facing 16th street, performers rocked the crowd below. A host of artists; Blee, Flaws, Righteous Movement, Dezit Eaze, Npire and hella others – twas a scene reminiscent of A Tribe Called Quest’s “Check The Rhyme” video! An awesome collection of performances, indeed! From the roof, you could see the pigs roll by about every 10 minutes or so, but not once did they try to dowse our vibe. They just kept right on driving while break dancers up-rocked in the middle of the street!
Thank you to everyone who came through and celebrated with us! Special shout to Stimulate Photography, IBonTV.com, and SACMAG! =o)
pics to come later i guess..

mi:i dont believe there is such thing as TMI on the internet.
prp2: @tofu916 I would agree with that statement. Though I will say that who I am online is also who I am in the real world. No point otherwise.
just keeping the ball rollin. I was just speaking to a homie about how J Dilla revolutionized music. since the 1st time I heard this brotha, I have been a fan of his. Dilla died on February 10, 2006. i thought i was going to die. this was a man I had modeled mi earlier production after…
well, Dilla had a way of pushing his beats around. He would give out beat CDs to alot of people, from local to mainstream. any rough drafts are easy to find on the internet. some of his stuff, you can still hear the hiss of the 4 track he and slum village used to record on!
whether people just leaked his shit all over the place, or he did it himself, his rough drafts are now priceless commodities, and they arent hard to find and download. i still support Dilla by buying his releases, but there are countless gems that arent available via itunes or retailers.
ive always believed in not ‘leaking’ music that is still in draft form, but that was before web 2.0. as long as its mi music, it will be as available as Dillas music is. productions for artists i work with will still be respectively handled by the artists or their lables.
while the following is a rough draft (and has ‘watermarks’), i only ask that if you like this and other songs of mine, PLEASE share them. on your podcasts, torrent sites, limewire, myspace, your playlists, facebook, lastfm, imeem, smartphones, iphones/ipods or what have you.
i could NEVER be like Dilla. but when i die, i would like to be remembered via mp3 (same as any musician)!
thank you for your support! i LoVe yall.

Post Tour Vlog
damnit, i LoVe the road! from 3.26.08 – mi group Righteous Movement was booked for 4 venues:
- Element Lounge (SF)
- SDSU (San Diego)
- Static Lounge (SD)
- UOP (Stockton)
we got on the road promptly, and went straight to the rehearsal studio in the east bay to meet up with The Park for a quickonce over of all the tunes…
Lets >>fast forward a bit, cause I wanna talk about the talib kweli show: we arrived at the sheraton hotel, and it was friggin fantastic! the staff @ uop took care of us, and it was needed after the week we had! no sleep. road rash on our asses (ew!), and in dire need of rest!

11 people total, and everyone got their own room plus all expenses taken care of…now THATS how you treat a super-microphonist group! anyway, im tired and dont wanna type anylonger.
