Born Bernard Jeffrey McCullough on Oct. 5, 1957, in Chicago, Mac grew up on the city’s South Side. His publicist said he died Saturday from complications of pneumonia. He had suffered from sarcoidosis, an inflammatory lung disease that produces tiny lumps of cells in the body’s organs, but had said the condition went into remission in 2005. He recently was hospitalized and treated for pneumonia, which his publicist said was not related to the disease - chicago tribune.com

got the news in a txt message from mi lil cousin Meezy Banger. i thought he was bullshittin. but not even 20 minutes before posting this, i googled it and found it was true. this hella sucks.
Mr. Mac was one of mi favorite comedians. he 1st captured mi with his def comedy appearance when he so boldly stated “i aint scared of you motha fuckas!”. his movie characters left mi dying with laughter! remember the scene in Don’t Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood? Mac’s character was the self-hating police officer that was a parody of the black cop from Boys in the Hood. i havent laughed that hard in a while. “I HATE BLACK PEPPER!”

anyway, i never got the chance to see him perform LiVe. i would have seriously preferred to see him than Chris Rock any day.

damnit man…why did you have to go?
